About Our Chapter

The Libya chapter of World BEYOND War operates in a complex post-conflict environment marked by political instability, armed divisions, and ongoing security challenges. Since the 2011 uprising, Libya has faced cycles of violence fueled by armed groups, foreign interventions, and competition over resources. The country remains deeply divided, with fragmented governance and sporadic clashes, impacting peacebuilding efforts and civilian stability. The consequences of war, including displacement, economic hardship, and environmental degradation, continue to affect communities across Libya.

In this context, Libya for a World BEYOND War is dedicated to fostering a culture of peace by promoting dialogue, youth engagement, and conflict resolution strategies. Our chapter collaborates with local activists, civil society organizations, and international partners to raise awareness about the impact of war on society, the environment, and future generations. We aim to empower young Libyans by providing platforms for education, advocacy, and policy engagement on peacebuilding and nonviolent solutions. Additionally, we are working to link climate justice with peace efforts, recognizing how environmental stressors such as water scarcity and desertification contribute to conflict.

Through community outreach, educational programs, and advocacy campaigns, the Libya chapter is committed to advancing the World BEYOND War mission of ending all wars and building a just and sustainable peace.
